Now Hiring Full-time Assistant Coordinator (Overnight Programs)



On-Site programs:

  • Teach 5th and 7th graders in an overnight science curriculum-based program outdoors.
  • Manage behaviors in full-class as well as smaller groups

School communication:

  • Establish rapport with schools
  • Communicate with teachers, principals, parents, and students
  • Develop schedules with schools and buses
  • Teacher prep
  • Oversee data collection and entry

Long-term/Staff related:

  • Assist with hiring and training staff
  • Supervise staff
  • Coordinate site and props


Programs scheduled during the 2018-2019 school year (anticipate October through April).  Training held from end of August through September.

Fifth grade program (Sunship EarthTM) is 5 days/4 nights (Friday through Tuesday) at T.R.E.E.’s overnight facility on the Northshore (Covington, LA).   Approximately 7 sessions anticipated October through December 2018.

Seventh grade program (Sunship IIITM) is 3 days/2 nights (weekdays) at T.R.E.E.’s overnight facility on the Northshore (Covington, LA).  Approximately 8 sessions anticipated January through April 2019.

Training will occur from August 27, 2018 through the end of September. The first week will be paid, overnight, all-staff training. Overnight attendance for this week of training, Mon-Fri. is mandatory for all Earth Educator positions.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong commitment and experience with children and learning
  • Understanding of performance/acting skills related to learning

Full-time Sunship Coordinator position will be 9 months (August 27. 2018 – May 31, 2019 because of hiring date) with a salary range of $27,000 – $31,000 depending on experience.
