T.R.E.E. is now hiring full-time and part-time Educators for our 2015-2016 program year. Resumes will be accepted through July 31, 2015. FULL-TIME EARTH EDUCATOR OVERNIGHT PROGRAMS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach 5th and 7th grade students in two separate science curriculum-based programs outdoors throughout the school year
  • Manage behaviors in full-class as well as smaller groups
  • Mealtime duties
  • Evening activities
  • Special projects and light maintenance of the facility
  • Program set-up and clean-up
  • Office duties related to program and organization activities, such as:  thank you letters, participant database entry, photo downloads, Power Point photo journals, repair and creation of program props, and other projects as needed

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND ANTICIPATED DATES:

Fifth grade program is a residential (overnight) program.  Staff is required to stay on-site for the full five days/four nights.  Programs run Friday through Tuesday.  Program site is T.R.E.E.’s Outdoor Classroom in Covington, Louisiana.  Eight to ten weekend overnight sessions are anticipated.

Seventh grade program is a residential (overnight) program.  Staff is required to stay on-site for the full three day/two nights.  Programs conducted at T.R.E.E.’s Outdoor Classroom in Covington, Louisiana. Three to six overnight sessions are anticipated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong commitment to children and learning
  • Experience with children
  • Able to work in outdoor environments (all weather conditions)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Performance/acting skills a plus
  • Must have a car

SALARY

$25,000 – 28,000 based on experience for 9 months employment.  No medical benefits offered.

SALARY

Program salaries are paid on a per program basis:

Sunship Earth – $850.00 for five day/four night session

Sunship III – $600.00 per three day/two night session

Training days before sessions begin are paid at $75 per day
